COMPARISON OF CUBIC TRIGONOMETRIC BÉZIER AND QUASI-QUINTIC TRIGONOMETRIC BEZIER METHODS IN DESIGNING SYMMETRICAL 3-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT
Abstract
In the field of Computer Aided Geometry Design (CAGD), Bezier curves are very common that play an important role. Cubic trigonometric Bezier and quasi-quintic trigonometric Bezier are implemented in generating curves and objects. The object used in this research is a bottle which is one of the important things in daily life. The bottle is classified as a 3-dimensional object and designed by using cubic trigonometric Bézier of degree 4 and quasi-quintic trigonometric Bézier of degree 6. The curves obtained by adjusting the shape of parameters to get the desire shapes. The 3-dimensional object is transforming from 2-dimensional irregular curves and undergoes sweep surface method which is revolution technique. The results show that quasi-quintic trigonometric Bézier with shape parameter λ=0.5, µ=0.5 is the best method in designing a symmetrical 3-dimensional object.
